Nuri Coming soon to iPhone

누리다 nurida means to enjoy, to make the most of.

You already watch K‑drama.
Nuri makes it count.

Tap any word in a scene to see what it means and why it's said that way. Keep the words you like, and review them later with the scene they came from.

How it works

Watch the scenes you'd watch anyway

Textbook dialogue is about ordering coffee you never wanted. Drama is someone being told to clear out their desk by tomorrow.

Nuri is a feed of short K‑drama scenes, each less than a minute long. Swipe up for the next one. The Korean is real, and it sticks, because you were there when it was said.

Tap any word. Find out what she actually meant.

Subtitles tell you what a line says. They skip how it's said, and in Korean that's half the scene.

Tap a word and the scene pauses. You get:

  • What it means in this line, not just in the dictionary
  • How it sounds, with the romanisation small under the hangul
  • How polite it is, casual 반말 or polite 존댓말
  • Why it's said this way, in plain English

Why it's said this way

Keep a word. Review it with the scene it came from.

A flashcard with a word on it is easy to forget. A word you heard a boss throw back at his team is not.

Save a word and it comes back later on a card with its scene. You hear the line again, try to remember it, and tap to check. That's the whole review. No streak to protect, and nothing lost if you take a week off.

Why we built Nuri

You already love this

You watch every week. You've picked up 오빠, 진짜 and 괜찮아 without trying. That isn't luck. It's the method working.

Then the drill got in the way

So you tried to learn properly. Flashcard grinding, cartoon streaks, lessons about a bear drinking milk. None of it had anything to do with the shows you love, and it fizzled out. That was the method failing, not you.

So we put it back in the drama

Nuri keeps the learning inside the thing you already do. Same scenes, same evening on the sofa, and now every line is something you can tap.

  • No streak to protect. Come back after a day or a month. It's the same welcome.
  • Hangul first, always. Romanisation sits small underneath, never in its place.
  • Real Korean. Slang, speech levels and all. We don't tidy a line to make it teachable.
